PakYa: Consolidating Your Online Orders the Smart Way

If you shop US websites, the freight math usually catches you off guard. You buy from three or four stores, each ships to a different address on a different day, and you end up paying to move each parcel across the Gulf Stream on its own. PakYa fixes that. The idea is simple: stop paying per-parcel freight on parcels that could travel together. Here is how the service works and, more usefully, when it actually saves you money.

How PakYa works, step by step

You ship to our Pompano Beach address (2800 Gateway Drive, Unit 102) instead of paying to send each order to The Bahamas directly. As parcels land, we receive and log them. Once your orders are all in, we consolidate them into one shipment and move it to Nassau, then hand it off for delivery or Family Island onward movement.

• Package receiving at Pompano: $5.00 USD per package, with the first 30 days of storage free
• Personal package freight, Pompano to Nassau: $2.50 BSD per pound, minimum $25.00, by air or sea consolidation
• Storage after the free 30 days: $20.00 USD per pallet per month, pro-rated weekly
• Delivery in Nassau by the CLX fleet, or onward to the Family Islands by island band

Where consolidation actually saves you money

PakYa Personal Package freight is priced by weight, not by the number of boxes. So the win is not magic, it is arithmetic: you pay one $5 receiving fee per parcel at Pompano, then a single weight-based freight charge for everything that travels together. Two small orders that would each hit the $25 minimum on their own can clear that minimum once as a combined shipment. As an example, five parcels totalling 40 lbs cost $25 to receive at Pompano ($5 each), then $100 in freight to Nassau (40 lbs at $2.50). Shipping those same boxes separately would trip five separate minimums and five separate handlings. Consolidation is not the right call for a single heavy order, it is the right call for a shopper juggling several.

Sending it on to the Family Islands

If you are not in New Providence, PakYa still works, we just add an island-band rate on top of the Pompano-to-Nassau charge to reflect ferry frequency and distance. As a DHL Express Family Islands last-mile partner, we handle the onward leg. The band rate is added to the base Nassau figure, so a 40 lb Abaco shipment adds $60 (40 lbs at $1.50) plus the pass-through ferry or air cost.

• Band A (Eleuthera, Abaco, Grand Bahama): add $1.50 per pound, ferry or air at cost
• Band B (Andros, Exuma, Long Island): add $2.00 per pound
• Band C (Inagua, Crooked, Acklins, Mayaguana): add $3.00 per pound

Bigger orders: pallet and LCL consolidation

If you are buying at volume, business inventory, a bulk purchase, or a container's worth of goods over time, we consolidate at the pallet or cubic-metre level instead. Pallet consolidation is $45.00 USD per pallet including shrink-wrap and label; LCL consolidation to build a full container is $120.00 USD per cubic metre, one cubic metre minimum. Same warehouse, same Pompano address, just scaled up for freight rather than personal parcels. The rule of thumb: use PakYa Personal Package for the online shopping you do as an individual, and step up to pallet or LCL once your volume justifies it.
