CLX maintains a fleet of 14× 40ft chassis available for rent from our Arawak Cay or Oakes Field yard. Chassis rental is independent of CLX trucking, so self-hauling consignees, fellow brokers, and shipping-line operators can rent equipment only.
Pricing is a flat charge for the first two days and a per-day calendar rate from day three onward, pro-rated to the next full day. A mandatory maintenance-and-repair reserve applies per container, and non-account clients post a refundable deposit returned on undamaged return.

Chassis Rentals — common questions
What does it cost to rent a 40ft chassis?
It's $148.50 flat for the first two days, and that includes the pull from our Arawak Cay or Oakes Field yard. From day three it's $100.00 per day, counted in calendar days and pro-rated to the next full day. A mandatory $15.00 per-container M&R fee applies, and Antillean or partner-line containers carry a $125.00 local chassis usage surcharge per container.
Can I rent a chassis without using CLX trucking?
Yes — chassis rental is completely independent of our trucking. If you have your own trailer head, you can rent the 40ft chassis only, and fellow brokers and shipping-line operations do the same. We keep a fleet of 14 for exactly this.
Do I need to put down a deposit?
Only if you don't hold an account with us. Non-account clients post a $1,000.00 deposit, refunded in full when the chassis comes back in undamaged condition. Account clients rent without one.
Where do I pick up and return the chassis?
Pickup is from our yard at Arawak Cay or Oakes Field, and the pull from the yard is already included in the two-day flat rate. Return it to the yard when you're done — if we have to recover a chassis from a non-return location, a $200.00 off-yard recovery charge applies.
What happens if the chassis is damaged while I have it?
Every unit is inspected on return, and any damage identified is billed at cost plus 15%. For non-account clients, the $1,000 deposit is refunded only when the chassis comes back undamaged. The mandatory $15 M&R fee is a routine maintenance-and-repair reserve and is separate from any damage assessment.
